When BKM began, I knew I would be traveling and preaching but developing a digital pulpit hadn’t occurred to me. Over the last three years, however, that’s exactly where God has led. We quickly discovered that partnering with local churches also meant staying connected after the revival or marriage conference ended. So, we developed ways to help church members become social media missionaries. As our May newsletter said, “Our desire is to use every means possible to reach the lost with the Gospel and to encourage believers in their faith.” Now, we’re expanding our digital pulpit again.
The majority of people who view and share our content, do so on their phones. So, I looked for ways to make our website and social media content more accessible and user friendly. That’s why we’re developing the BKM app; something that’s been heavy on my heart for over a year. Content is driving this expansion. Our weekly devotions, monthly newsletter articles, blog posts, and devotional podcast will all be there. But what I’m most excited about is the addition of the Bucky Kennedy Podcast, where my goal is to talk about cultural issues through the lens of Scripture.
My heart aches when I read that over 70% of conservative evangelical pastors fail to preach on cultural issues biblically. In developing the new podcast, I want to address growing trends. An old warning from Salvation Army founder, General William Boothe, gets to the heart of what concerns me. He said, “The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without hell.” While these trends are not new, they have quickly become our society’s new normal.
BKM is at the door of opportunity. I want to communicate the absolute truth of God’s inerrant Word…unapologetically. He has called me to preach, and I want to use every platform available to reach as many people as possible. That’s the fuel behind expanding our ministry and developing this app. I want to put solid biblical resources in the palm of your hands; providing what you need to reach others as you are also encouraged in your faith.
But in order to expand with excellence, we need your help. I’m asking God to bring people alongside us with financial support. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us on this app by giving to BKM. You can either make a one-time donation or become a monthly supporter. Your generosity will allow us to expand our reach as we seek to fulfill God’s call. For those of you who already support us monthly – thank you! The whole BKM team is incredibly grateful. I look forward to sharing the BKM app with you in the days to come!
