He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.’” Luke 24:46-48

Our final Holy Week conversation is the most enjoyable because it tells us exactly who Jesus is. Imagine walking to a grave, only to hear the news that the one you are grieving is alive, “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6). Not only did Jesus keep His promise to rise again; His resurrection from the tomb authenticates every other promise in Scripture.

Yes, we have the promise of eternal life, but just think about what the resurrection of Jesus means to our present reality. Although we celebrate the resurrection as an historical event, believers can also live in the power of His resurrection right now! Because He’s alive, sin’s curse is broken and no longer has power over those who trust in Him. Only the resurrected Christ can empower us to live in victory over sin. Are you living in the freedom of this truth?

This is a conversation worth sharing. As a matter of fact, in the final conversations Jesus had on Earth He instructed His followers to tell His story. Listen to some of what He said:

We all know people who are still held captive by sin’s curse. Jesus died to pay for their deliverance. Since we’ve been given new life, shouldn’t we also proclaim His love to everyone? Jesus is alive! Go tell somebody today about the hope found in Jesus Christ. Proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus is a conversation worth having!
